Planning & Zoning Commission

The Planning and Zoning Commission guides the City’s growth and development to ensure it is thoughtful, orderly, and consistent with community goals. The Commission carries out the duties of a Zoning Commission under Chapter 89, RSMo, and a Planning Board under Chapter 400 of the Dardenne Prairie municipal code.  

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on the second Wednesday of each month.  Work Session begins at 6 pm and Regular Session begins at 7 pm in the Board Room at Dardenne Prairie City Hall.  Please check the City Calendar for more details.

WHAT THE COMMISSION DOES 

• Holds public hearings on development applications  

• Reviews rezoning requests, zoning text amendments, site plans, conditional use permits, and planned developments  

• Evaluates site design and architectural standards to ensure compatibility with surrounding areas  

• Provides recommendations to the Board of Aldermen  

• Reviews and updates the City’s Comprehensive Plan  

MEMBERSHIP 

The Commission includes 7 to 15 members, appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Aldermen. Membership may include one Alderman.
