Salute to Service Program 

Within the Dardenne Prairie City Hall Park, there will be banners with stories of valor, dedication and resilience to be celebrated. Our new banner program will honor and pay tribute to those brave individuals who selflessly serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. This program symbolizes our gratitude and respect for those who have sacrificed to keep us safe and secure. 
 
Honorees must currently reside or have an immediate family member who resides in Dardenne Prairie and also be one of the following: 

  • Presently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces 
  • A retired military veteran 
  • An honorably discharged veteran 
  • A member of the Armed Forces who died while on active duty 

Banners will be 2 ft x 3 ft in size to be displayed on light poles along a walking path within City Hall Park. Locations are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. These banners will serve as a visual reminder of the extraordinary people who call our community home and inspire us to strive for greatness. 

 

Submission of application requires: 

  • An application 
  • Proof of City of Dardenne Prairie residency 
  • 4-inch x 6-inch or larger, high-resolution quality photo in .jpeg format of serviceperson in uniform Military verification  
  • Photo must have a minimum dpi (dots-per-inch) of 300 for a 4" x 6" photo. The photo may be cropped in by the City of Dardenne Prairie to show more detail of the face and shoulders of the honoree. The photo must show the honoree only with no other person in the photo. 
  • $150 payment to the City of Dardenne Prairie 
  • Each year you will have the option for your existing banner to remain displayed for $50 
  • Applicants will be contacted to process payment when their application has been approved. Applicants must submit complete and accurate forms, as any omissions or errors may affect acceptance of the application and/or their priority in the registration queue. 
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Applications will be processed in the order they are received, provided all required information is included. We encourage all applicants to carefully review their applications for accuracy before submission, as the banners will be produced based on the details provided in the application form.  
  • The registration process will occur twice a year (in the Spring and the Fall) 
  • The Spring registration will commence Mid-March and conclude Mid-April for banner display to occur by Memorial Day. 
  • The Fall registration will commence Mid-September and conclude Mid-October for banner display to occur by Veterans Day.  

Banners will be displayed on an annual basis. The end of your annual display is determined by the registration season in which you submitted your application. If you participate in the Spring registration, your notification for renewal will be sent on the first Monday of May. If you participate in the Fall registration, your notification for renewal will be sent on the first Monday of October. If banner display is not renewed, the banner will be removed and available for pick up. You will be notified of the location of the banner once it is installed.
